Research and Development, Production Associate

Full-Time - Winston Salem


This Position is primarily responsible for setting-up, starting-up, and operating equipment so to develop new products and to develop specified quality parameters for products. Operating equipment includes: mixer, sheeter, wire-cut, topper, guillotine, enrober, cooling tunnel and various conveyors. Responsible for the proper shut down of each piece of equipment by performing the following duties personally or through training of other employees.


Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follows the GMP rules of facility
  • Assists in new product development, including recipe development, mix profile, bake profile, and finished goods profile and develops, executes and trains production staff on these profiles.
  • Assisting in the plans, organization and direction of the R&D operations that ensure the most effective return on assets.
  • Investigates the use of new techniques and focus on fact based problem solving to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Has the ability to understand the operation of assigned production equipment.
  • Reports food safety and quality problems to personnel with the authority to initiate action.
  • Conducts quality checks.
  • Is able too perform set-up, start-up, and shut down procedures.
  • Completes computerized and paper documentation.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Has the ability to communicate with co-workers, train staff and manage properly.


  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in similar role.
  • Previous experience communicating effectively with co-corkers and training staff.


  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands or arms.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear and read instructions on a computer monitor and/or printed on paper.
  • Required to stand, kneel or stoop, and lift and/move up to 25 pounds.

Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm

Pay rate $11/hr. starting.
